One Day

You'll look up and we'll lock knowing smiles, our cheeks crinkling into our eyes, reflecting nothing, not the past, not anything but wonder, a sense of freshness. And we'd lock our selves into place, you and me, where once we were almost one, when our dreams were twines entangled into our DNA of the future, we'd be nothing but happy seeing that we're okay, both of us, finding our own happiness with the paths we chose.

Finding happiness, they always say, is the biggest revenge. But there will be no revenge, no salty aftertaste, only fondness and again, wonder, how we come into being, this passing through doors, this bumping into each other, the closing and opening. The end of whatever was thought unresolved. In the end there is this space--to fill and to cherish, a ball of possibilities we look into as we grow ourselves into fruition.

I wanted to make a poem, but instead this came out...
